Brand unit EMMA Safety Footwear (EMMA), located in Kerkrade, was acquired in 2020 to strengthen Hultafors’ position on the professional footwear market. As part of the PPE (professional protection equipment) division EMMA is a stand-alone company with a turnover of EUR 20 m and 130 fte employees.
In this challenging new position, it is your ultimate responsibility as CEO of EMMA to become a leading international player focused on the production and sales of safety shoes. Your attention will be on people and the environment, with continuous improvement in the areas of innovation, sustainability, quality, and reliability. Furthermore, as part of the PPE leadership team you will strengthen EMMA’s position within the Hultafors Group.
You will inspire your management team in the desired changes that are necessary to achieve this. This also means that you will have to challenge them to go the extra mile, to deviate from the beaten track and in turn take their teams on the change journey – all this taking into account the special employees that work at EMMA. You are the figurehead of the organization, and in close cooperation with the CCO you will have to ensure that, based on a strategic plan, the international market is conquered further with the focus on Germany.
Internally, steps must be taken to increase production capacity, both for third parties and for fellow companies within the PPE division. You will take on this challenge in close cooperation with your COO. As part of the new PPE leadership team you will contribute at divisional level to the objective of becoming the largest player of top brands with the highest profitability.
For this challenging position at an executive level, among other capabilities you have a proven track record within international sales and marketing in a similar role and environment. You have taken former companies to the next level, forging teams, and driving the growth of their international business, preferably in Germany and in a B2B market. Experience in retail is a bonus to your background. You have a strong business drive and with your natural leadership performance you are the captain of your team, leading them by example, challenging the team’s performance, and giving them the space they need to get better every single day.
People know you as a decisive, warm, and accessible person with a high energy level – a real team player with a customer-oriented mindset.
As a result of the international nature of the role, a certain amount of travelling is expected (post Covid).
