Dit model lijkt overigens ook sterk op het unfreeze, change, freeze model van Kurt Lewin. Verandering vindt immers onafhankelijk van de omvang van de verandering of de grootte van de organisatie ook plaats op individueel niveau. Daarom is het belangrijk om te begrijpen hoe u mensen op individueel niveau kunt aanzetten tot verandering.
